We are here to get better everyday. The only way to do that is to work from our current skill level and build upon that. Focus your attention on yourself. The goal is to better than you were yesterday. Not to judge yourself based on where someone else is.
Baseball is a beautiful sport and it provides an amazing opportunity for us to have fun and learn valuable lessons that go beyond the game.
Bring your best to practice and the games.
We want you listen to your coaches and teammates.
However, it is just as important to speak to your coaches and teammates. Let us know if you need help or what we are saying/doing doesn't make sense.
If you think you communicated enough, you didn't.
Whomever you want to be and whatever you want to achieve, be that person now.
Winning a ring at the end of the season does not make you a champion. You have to operate the way a champion would operate, now.
Take a moment to express your gratitude to those that help make your experience amazing.
City groundskeepers, recreational staff, coaches, parents, umpires, and yes, EVEN THE COMPETITION.
This can be silent reflection, but make sure you let those people know as well!
We are here for each other. We will make mistakes. Help pick each other up when you see someone getting down. Remind them that we are there for them regardless of a missed play or strike-out.
Together we will get better everyday!
Before every pitch, before every rep, we set our intention. This means we clearly decide what we want our experience to be. We don’t wait for our success to arrive; we create it now, with every practice and every play. Our intention aligns our energy and focus and reminds us that decide how we experience whatever the game of baseball or life brings us.
